The original golf course was built two miles south of Selby by the airport. In 1965, work began on a new 9-hole course on the south edge of town. The present clubhouse was completed in 1967. In 1980, a local lady, Mrs. May Magers, donated 10 acres on the south side of the present golf course, and the organization was renamed in her behalf. Mrs. Manger wanted a place where every young person could have access to the golf course.
